Scope of Work
Cianbro constructed a 422-foot long pedestrian pier, complete with kiosk, lighting, shade structure, swings, fire-pit, and floating dock with kayak launch. Precast concrete was set over 18-inch pipe piles and finished with Kebony timber decking and fascia. The pier extends from the land-side promenade out into the water, featuring varying elevations and unique curvature.

- Demolished existing piers
- Drove 98 ea. 18-inch pipe pile
- Set 35 unique precast bent caps and 92 slabs
- Installed approximately 16-tons of rebar
- Placed approximately 260 cubic yards of concrete
- Installed approximately 70,000 linear feet of 2 by 6 Kebony decking/fascia and 20,000 linear feet of 4 by 4 timbers
- Installed electrical and mechanical utilities including 11 separate lighting zones and Lutron system
- Installed a Cianbro fabricated steel shade structure
- Installed elliptical floating wetlands and anchors
- Installed approximately 650 linear feet of custom handrail
- Constructed steel and concrete retail kiosk with pier utility room
- Installed floating dock and two gangways
Lean, Innovative and Unique Project Solutions
This project took place in an urban environment with a high volume of traffic that has posed significant challenges for our crew as well as limited land access which hindered deliveries and transportation of material to the site. Construction started in the middle of January with a fixed grand opening end date.
